This is SIRIUS - Urban Space
Competition entry
(Melbourne, 2013)

Urban Space was an entry in the Storefront for Art and Architecture Competition of Competitions by Studio Apparatus in collaboration with Ian Nazareth and Tom Morgan.

In constructing this competition brief we pose the question: should outer space be understood as urbanised.

The urbanisation of outer space presents complex ethical implications for humanity and all life. The intention of the competition was to encourage interdisciplinary engagement with complex questions of colonialism, power, regulation, liberty, exploitation, and biodiversity as they are currently playing out within C21st capitalism and urbanisation. Outer space as a reflection of life on earth.
